Transportation
There are two airports in Northern Taiwan: Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (Airport Code: TPE) and Taipei Songshan Airport (Airport Code: TSA). Most attendees arrive in Taiwan at TPE. The journey from TPE to our symposium venue is about 50 kilometers. TSA was a domestic airport but now it has flights between Mainland China, Japan and Korea. Therefore if you are from Mainland China, Japan or Korea, we recommend you to pick TSA. It takes 1/2 time to reach our symposium venue compared to TPE.
From Airport to Symposium Venue
Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE)
- By Metro (Time: 50 min; Fare: NTD$180)
Take Airport MRT (Purple Line, Taoyuang Airport Line) from Airport Terminal 1 or Airport Terminal 2 to Taipei Main station, and then,
Take MRT Green (Songshan-Xindian) Line from "Beimen Station" to "Taipower Building Station" (Exit 2) or "Gongguan Station" (Exit 3); or,
Take MRT Red (Tamsui-Xinyi) Line from "Taipei Main Station" to "Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall Station" and transfer to MRT Green (Songshan-Xindian) Line from "Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall Station" to "Taipower Building Station" (Exit 2) or "Gongguan Station" (Exit 3).
- By Taxi (Time: 1 hr; Fare: NTD$1200)
Taxis operating by shifts are located at the west side of Terminal 1's and 2's Arrivals Lobby. Airport taxis charge according to the meter plus a 50% surcharge (highway tolls not included).
Note: Please ignore any solicitations of taxi service inside the Arrival Hall. Do hire one at the official taxi stop.
- By Bus (Time: 1.5 hr; Fare: NTD$170)
Take bus (Kuo-kuang Line 1819) directed to Taipei Main Station, and take MRT Red (Tamsui-Xinyi) Line from "Taipei Main Station" to "Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall Station" and transfer to MRT Green (Songshan-Xindian) Line from "Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall Station" to "Taipower Building Station" (Exit 2) or "Gongguan Station" (Exit 3).
Intervals: 15-20mins
Bus hour: 24 hr (In the night time: 00:00、00:20、00:50、01:20、01:50、02:20、02:50、03:20、03:40、04:00、04:15、04:30、04:45、05:00…)
Ticketing: Tickets sold at bus counters.
Terminal 1: Bus pickup zone at B1 Arrivals.
Terminal 2: Bus pickup zone at the northeast arcade of the 1st floor Arrivals lobby.

Take MRT Brown (Wenshan-Neihu) Line from "Songshan Airport Station" to "Nanjing Fuxing Station" and transfer to MRT Green (Songshan-Xindian) Line from "Nanjing Fuxing Station" to "Taipower Building Station" (Exit 2) or "Gongguan Station" (Exit 3). - By Taxi (Time: 20 min; Fare: NTD$250)
Taxi rank is located outside the Arrivals Lobby. The taxi charges according to the meter.
Memo:
The most convenient way to travel in Taipei city is by MRT or taxi. The NTU campus is close to Gongguan Station (Green line), Taipower Building Station (the nearest station to Howard International House, Green line). For general tourism information of MRT, please visit the website Taipei Metro.
